Rahul Gandhi to visit Telangana’s Bharat Summit in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is likely to attend the Bharat Summit in Telangana on November 14, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) already opposing the probable visit.

“The BJP opposes his visit because he and his government have allegedly misled the people of Telangana,” said BJP state president Ramchander Rao.

Gandhi promised six guarantees to Telangana’s people, Rao said, adding that after three years of his government, “not even a single one of these guarantees” has been fulfilled.

“Mr Revanth Reddy is now completing three years of his term as Chief Minister, yet he has not even implemented the promises made by Rahul Gandhi during his election speeches,” Rao told ANI news agency.

He said that since no guarantees have come to fruition, Congress has no moral right to visit Telangana or attend programmes.

The BJP leader warned that his party won’t allow Gandhi to attend the programme and display black flags as a form of protest.

“The BJP will definitely oppose Rahul Gandhi’s visit by displaying black flags, and we will not allow him to attend the summit.”
